Made up of graduates of The Royal Academy of Music, The Royal College of Music, Guildhall School of Music and Drama and The Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now The Royal Scottish Conservatoire), Quintet Zambra is a dynamic group whose aim is to bring more unusual as well as familiar repertoire for wind quintet to audiences across the UK and further afield.
Quintet Zambra have been performing together for over six years and they kick started their career by winning the prestigious Mary D Adams prize for Chamber Music from the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. Consequently, they quickly gained a lot of interest from a variety of audiences and composers. Highlights include a world premiere of John Maxwell-Geddes’ “Quango”, a Scottish premiere of Russell Denwood’s “Suite Provencale No.2”, a performance for the Duke of Edinburgh and an unforgettable appearance in the world famous “Gherkin” in London.
Quintet Zambra are also becoming increasingly active in the education field. They give regular workshops in schools, colleges and community centres throughout the UK to students of all ages and abilities.
